1ஆடுசென்மம் இரண்டில்குசன் காரியெட்டில் அருக்கன்புதன் புகர்மூன்றில் பணிப்புஅஞ்சில்
நீடுகுரு பனிரெண்டில் மதியும்கேது நின்றிடமும் லாபமுற பூரட்டைபூர்வம்
தேடியே உதித்தவர்க்கு பலன்எவ்வாறு செப்புவீர் தவமுனியே விபரமாக
நாடிடுமே ஆண்சென்மம் சமவூராகும் நதிசடையி லணிந்தவனும் உத்திரத்தில்

Parvati asks the rishis to explain the results for a person with Aries Lagna; Mars in the 2nd house; Saturn in Scorpio; the Sun, Mercury, and Venus in Gemini; Rahu in Leo; Jupiter in Pisces; and the Moon and Ketu in the 11th house of gains in Aquarius. Rishis tell that the native was born in the plains. In the north, a temple for the Lord who is wearing the river Ganga in his matted hair (Lord Shiva) is situated.

Native’s birth place

2தென்வடக்கு வீதியதாம் இந்திரவாடை சக்கரத்தோன் வடமேல்பால் தங்குமென்றோம்

The street will be running north-south and the house faces East. In the north-west direction, there will be a temple for Lord Vishnu. The native will be born in the Gangai community. His father will have a brother. We will tell about his details in the later chapters. Now we will tell about the native’s father. He is a good person. Will have good thinking. Will increase the land holdings. Will live applauded by the people. A little righteous.

In ancient India, the community was divided into 4 castes, based on the occupation of the people. They are (1) Brahmins (who perform puja, recite Vedas, and perform other rituals for all—they are treated as the holy one), (2) Kshatriyas (warriors who protect the nation), (3) Vaishyas (the trading community), and (4) Shudras (the labour class). All the planets belong to these four castes. Jupiter and Venus are Brahmins. The Sun is the King and Mars, the Army chief; hence they belong to Kshatriya caste. The Moon (the other royal planet) and Mercury (prince) belong to Vaishya caste. Saturn belongs to the labour caste.

To determine the caste of a chart, the majority influence of the planet on the Lagna, Chandra Lagna, and their lords are to be determined. We have to decide on the dominant influence of a particular planet or a group of planets.

In this chart, the lagna is unoccupied. The lagna Lord is Mars and is influenced by Saturn by its aspect. Saturn is the lord of Chandra Lagna and hence the decider is the Moon which indicates Vaishya community. Chandra Lagna is also influenced by Saturn, the lord of the sign occupied by the Moon.

Will talk pleasantly like a parrot. A good characteristic person. Will increase cows and buffaloes. Will not show anger. Will marry many women. Has a sympathetic mind. Will help many people. Will not show great anger. Is interested in doing righteous things. Will increase cultivable lands. Will protect those who approached him. Is a wealthy person. Will have abdominal complaints. Kindly listen.

Characteristics of the native

4சொன்னயிக் குணத்தானுக்குமே பாரிதோன்றிடு மூன்றுமே யென்றோம்
இன்னவன் கடைமாதுக்கு தோன்றும் எய்திடும் இவன்பலன் புகல்வேன்
மன்னர்க ளுறவு மாடுகள் விருத்தி மானிலம் சேர்ந்திடுவானாம்
அந்நகர் கிராமஅதிகாரம் சின்னாள் அவனுமே செய்திடுவானாம்

The said person (native’s father) will have three wives. To his last wife, the native will be born. We will tell about the native. He will get the friendship of Kings. Cattle wealth will increase. Will accumulate lands. He will be the village head in his place for some time.

Here it is stated that native’s father had three wives and the native is the son from the third wife. In the chart, let us see the planetary influences for such a position. 9^th house is father and the 7^th from the 9^th which is the 3^rd house is his wife. Now 4^th house indicates mother of the native and as such that should be taken as the wife of the father in which case 10^th house become father being 7^th to the 4^th indicating husband of the mother. But in majority of the Saptarishi Nadi charts, I have observed that whenever wife of anybody is said, the 7^th house from the house indicating the person gives the clue. As such here, we will study the 3^rd house and find out about wives of the father. 3^rd house is tenanted by 3 planets. Venus is maraka and hence a malefic, Mercury is lord of 3^rd and 6^th house and hence a malefic, Sun a natural malefic and lord of the house occupied by Rahu gets influence by Rahu. All the three planets are affecting the results of the 3^rd house, which is the 7^th house of wife of the father of the native. Ketu also aspects this 3^rd house with its 5^th aspect. No doubt father’s wives passed away one by one.

Will be interested in doing charitable work. Is capable of talking wonderfully. Will have beautiful wheatish complexion. He will respect the elders. Will not despise the words of others. He will live up to his words. Will be doing some wrong things. Will complete the things as per his thoughts. Will have no secrets in his mind. He will have two wives. He will be devoted to Lord Muruga.

6பத்தி யென்றோருக் கன்னமுமீவன் பலசகா யங்களும் செய்வன்
வித்தையு முடையன் விடவாக்கு முடையன் மேவிடும் பித்தசூடென்றோம்
அத்திபோ லொத்ததேக முமுடையன் ஆண்டி சேர்க்கையு முண்டாம்
சித்திரஇல்லம் செய்திடு வானாம் சிறுத்தோர்க் குதவியே செய்வன்

Will offer food to those who are pious. Will also assist them in other ways. An intelligent and educated person. Will have poisonous words while talking. Will have Pitta constitution. Has a body like that of an elephant (very strong). Will have friendship with devotees of Lord Siva. Will construct a beautiful house. Will help those who are poor.

Native’s marriage

7செய்திடும் துணைஆண் ஒன்றுமேயென்றோம் செல்விமார் மூவரே  தீர்க்கம்
பையவே ஒன்றாய் வாழ்ந்துமே பின்பால் பாகமாய் செல்வனாம் துணையும்
ஐயங்களுண்டு பின்பாகம் புகல்வேன் அரைகிறோம் பாலகன் மணத்தை
தையலும் வடபால் நேர்ந்திடு மென்றோம் சனிதசை இருபதுமூன்றுள்
மைவிழி குணத்தை மாந்தளிர்மேனி மனதுக்கு இசைந்தவ ளென்றோம்

He has a brother and three sisters. All of them will have a long life. They will all be living as a nuclear family for some time and after some period, his brothers will separate. I will tell about this later. We will henceforth tell about the native’s marriage. Wife will come from north during the Saturn dasa in his 23rd year. She has a very tender body akin to that of a sprout of a mango tree. Dear to the heart.

Characteristics of the native’s wife

8பலருக்கும் நல்லோள் பைங்கிளிவார்த்தை பாம்புபோல் கோபமும் கொஞ்சம்
நிலையிலார் தமக்குநேருவாள் தாகம் நீத்தோர்போல் குணமென உடையாள்

Will be good to many. Will talk in sweet and pleasant tone like am parrot. If she gets angry, she will be hissing like a snake. Just as offering water to the thirsty people, she will assist those who are not in a good position. She will live duly respected by the community. She will also have a long life. She will do good to all. Listen, Mother!

Native’s children

9சுதர்களும் ஆண்பால் தோன்றிடும்தீதாம் செல்விமார் மூவரே தீர்க்கம்
எதுவிதம் சுதராண் தோஷமேயென்றீர் ராகுவும் அஞ்சினில் தங்க
தசமத்தோன் எட்டில் சார்ந்ததால் புகன்றோம் சாதகன் முன்சென்மதோஷம்
அதுவினை புகல்வீர் அவன்பூர்வம் சொல்வேன் அப்புவின் தலத்தினிலேதான்

We will talk about the children. One male child will be born and he will die. Three daughters will live long. One rishi asks what is the reason that the male child will not stay? As Rahu is in the 5th house and the 10th lord (Saturn) is in the 8th house, we stated like that. This was due to the blemish of the native carried from his previous birth. When asked about that, Rishi tells about his previous birth. In Thiruvanaikaval, (continued in next verse)

Rahu in the 5^th house invariably leads to no issues, issues are born but die, or many times no male issues. Because Rahu from the 5^th house aspects its Bhavath Bhava the 9^th house also. Should the 5^th house lord or the 9^th house lord is strongly placed this position reverses. Here the 5^th house lord (the Sun) is in the 3^rd house with the 3^rd lord and 6^th lord Mercury, and the 9^th house lord has gone into the 12^th house. The next reason given by the Rishi is the placement of Saturn in the 8^th house. From the 8^th house, Saturn aspects the 5^th house which creates troubles.

Previous birth of the native

10அக்கினி குலத்தில் அவனுமேதோன்றி ஆண்மையைக் குடும்ப மேயாகி
தக்கவே வாழுநாளினில் வினையும் சாற்றுவோம் தவம்புரி வோர்க்கு
மிக்கவே இடைஞ்சல் செய்தனன்என்றோம் மெல்லியாம் ஏழையாம் மாது
துக்கமாய் அன்னம்குரவதாய் தன்பால் சேர்ந்துமே பணிகளும் செய்து

He was born in Agni community (which is a subsect of vanniar). While living with courage, an event happened about which we will tell. He created hindrances to those who do penance. A poor girl was working in his house.

11இருக்கும் நாள்தன்னில் சிலதுநாள்சென்று ஏகினள் சிலது பொன்கவர்ந்து
மறுதினம் பார்த்து மாதுவைத் தேடி மங்கையும் நேரிடாதாலே
குறைமனமாகக் கூறுவான் சொல்வேன் கோதை முன்பின் கடன்தானோ
பொருளது கவர்ந்தாய் கணபதிநீதான் பேதைக்குக் கூலியும் தருவாய்

She worked like that for some days, and one day she stole money and left. Next day after searching, she was not found. So, he said with a distressed heart that in the previous birth she might have lent money to us and that is why she has stolen the money from our house. Since she has stolen the money, Lord Ganesha should give her proper wages (meaning, he should punish her).

12இன்னமும் பலவாறு சொல்லியேதூளை இரைத்தனன் என்றுமே சொல்வோம்
கன்னிக்கு அந்தச்சாபமும் நேர்ந்து காளையும் அந்தியம் தன்னில்
தன்வினை நீக்கும் சேதுவும்சென்று தென்பதி நாடுமே சென்று
பொன்னவன் வரிய வந்தவனென்றோம் பொருளது கவர்ந்ததோர் மாது

And he stated other things also, and such curses came upon her. The native (in his previous birth) in his last days to atone his bad deeds went to Rameswaram and took bath in Sethu. And went to the abode of Yama. The woman who stole the money… (continued in next verse)

13மறுபாரியாக வருகுவ ளென்றோம் மாரனுக் காரேழ் ஒன்றுள்
உரைகுவாள் சுதர்ஆண் ஒன்றென மொழிந்தோம் உத்தமிமார்களு மிரண்டு
திருகிலா தீர்க்கம் மாதுவின் குணத்தைச் செப்புவீர் முனிவரே என்ன
பொரைசொலாள் கோபிபின் சாந்தமுடையள் பேதையும் வடதிசை என்றோம்

Will come as the second wife when the native is 43 years old. She will get a male child and two female children, and they will live long. Parvati asked the rishi to tell her character. Rishi said that she will not tell a lie. A peaceful lady on earth. She will also come from northern side.

14தரித்திர மில்லாள் அன்புடையவளாம் சத்தியும் தீர்க்கமாம் வயது
பெருத்த புத்திகளும் பிழைகுணமில்லாள் பால்பாக்கியம் விருத்தியே யுடையாள்
உரைத்தசொல் காப்பள் பலருக்கும்நல்லோள் உகமையாய் வார்த்தையு முடையாள்
சிறுத்தோர்க்கு தாகம் செய்நன்றிமறவாள் சிலசேதி பின்பாகம் புகல்வேன்

Will never be in poverty. Is a kind woman. Is a woman of power and influence. Will have good intellect No wrong characteristics. Will breastfeed her kids. Will stick to her words. Good to many. Capable of speaking allegorically. Will provide food to the poor. Will not forget benefits done by others to her. Some information I will tell in the later chapter.

Fortunes of the native

15பாலகன் யோகம் பகருவேன்தாயே பாரது விருத்தியே செய்வன்
சீலவான் தருமசிந்தையு முடையன் செய்ந்நன்றி மறவாதவ னாகும்
ஞாலமேல் வறுமை யில்லாதவனென்றோம் நாதனார் பத்தியும் பூண்பன்
காலனைக் காணுவயது மட்டுலகில் கடனிலான் பெருமையாய் வாழ்வன்

I will tell about the fortunes of this native. Listen, Mother! Will increase his vast land holdings. Will have good manners. Will have a righteous mind. Will not forget the benefits done to him. Will never see poverty in the world. Will be devoted to God. Until he meets his death, he will live without any debts and will live in greatness.

Characteristics of his mother

16மாதுரு குணத்தை வரைகிறோம்இனிமேல் வார்த்தையும் நல்லதாம் பொறுமை
சூதிலாள் அன்னம் அன்புடனீவள் சோர்வோர்க்குத் தாகமே யீவள்
பாதகமில் லாள்பண்போர் போல்குணத்தாள் பதரிலாள் துணைஆண்பால் ஒன்று
காதலிமார்கள் இரண்டென புகல்வோம் கனக்காது மற்றது என்றோம்

We will tell about the characteristics of his mother. Will speak good words. A patient woman. Will have no deceits. Will provide food with love and affection. Will provide water to those who are thirsty. Will not commit any sin. Is of a good character akin to that of great people. No empty talk. Will have one brother and two sisters. Other siblings will perish.

Previous birth of his mother

17முன்சென்மம் புகல்வோம் முக்கூடல்கீழ்பால் முதியூரில் கருணிகர் குலத்தில்
அன்னவ ளுதித்து ஆன்மையாய்க் குடும்பமாகியே சுதர்களு முண்டாய்
பின்னோர்க்குத் தாகம் விரதங்கள்பூண்டு பிழையது யின்றியே மாது
தன்வரன் முன்னே மரணமேயாகி தலைநான்கோன் வரியவே வந்தாள்

We will tell about her previous birth. She was born in Muthiyur situated east of Mukkoodal in Karuneekar community.  Had a superior family. Got children and fortune. Provided food and drinks to the poor. Observed many religious rites. Living like that this lady will die before her husband. Because of the creation of Brahma, she was born again.

Mukkodal is a big town in Tirunelveli district of Tamilnadu, India. The Tamil word Mukkoodal also means a mountain. Another meaning is that there will be confluence of three rivers. In the place mentioned above, the three rivers that conjoin are the Chitra river, Uppodai, and Thamrabarani. Karunnekar community are the persons who maintain the village accounts and are also called as karnam.

Previous birth of his father

18மறுசென்மம் கடையூர் மாநகர்தன்னில் வருகுவாள் சவுராஷ்ட்ர வம்சம்
பொருளது பெருக்க மாகியேவாழ்வள் பிதாவின் தன்பூருவம் புகல்வேன்
முருகர்வாழ் மயிலம் மேற்றிசைதன்னில் உதித்தனன் முதல்குல மதனில்
வறுமைக ளின்றிவாழ்ந்திடு நாளில் மருவின வினையதைப் புகல்வேன்

Her next birth will be in the famous Tirukkadayur. She will be born in a Saurashtra family. Will live wealthy. I will tell the father’s previous birth. He will be born to the west of Mayilam which is famous for Lord Murugan temple. (Mayilam is in South Arcot district of Tamil Nadu, India). Born in Brahmin community. Will be living without any poverty. At that time one karma came upon him.

19விலைமாதர் தன்னை அனுசரித்தவனும் மெல்லிபால் பணிகளும் பெற்று
யிலையென்று சொல்ல மாதுவும்வாடி இயம்பின சாபத்தைக் கேளாய்
நிலையென்று பார்த்தேன் மோசங்கள்செய்தாய் நேரும்பின் சென்மங்கள் தன்னில்
தலைவிமார் அநந்தம் சார்ந்திடும் பாரிதங்கைமா ரின்றியே வாழ்வாய்

He visited prostitutes and many other women. One such woman from whom he had borrowed jewelry and later denied it, cursed him. Please listen! I thought that you will be true to me but you deceived me. In your next births, you will have many women. And will live without a wife and sister.

20இன்னமும் சிலதுசொல்லியே தூளை யிரைத்தனள் வேசியும் தானும்
துன்மைகள் சேர்ந்து அதுசென்மம் வறுமைசார்ந்துமே சிறையதாய் மாண்டு
பொன்னவன் வரியவந்தவ னென்றோம் பொருந்திடும் வேசியின் சாபம்
தன்மனை மூவர் சார்ந்திடும் தாயேசந்ததி முன்னிருவ ருக்கும்

Like this she said many other things and cursed him. Troubles came continuously and in that birth; he was in poverty and was in jail and died. Because Brahma created him, he was born again. The curse of the prostitute began to show in this birth. Oh! Mother! Even though he had three wives, there was no issue for the first two wives.

Timing of death

21தீதென்று சொல்வோம் எண்ணான்குஇரண்டு ஆண்டினில் செல்லுவான் தாயே
மேதினில் பின்சென்மம் ஆழிமாநகரில் விளம்புவா னிக்குல மதனில்
மாதுரு தனக்கு நாப்பதுனாலு ஆண்டினில் மரித்திடு வாளாம்
சாதகன் தனக்கு அறுபதுஇரண்டில் சாடி மாதத்தில் கெண்டம்

The native’s father will die when the native is 34 years of age. Mother! Listen! In his next birth, he will be born in Sirkazhi. The native’s mother will die in his 44th year. In his 62nd year in the month of Aquarius, (February-March) the native will die.

Next birth of the native

22மறுசென்மம் வேலங்காட்டினில் இன்னோன் வருகுவன் வேதத்தோன் குலத்தில்
அரசரால் தொழிலும் பெற்றுமேவாழ்வன் அறைந்தனம் மொழிகள் குன்றாது
குருதசை செனன காலத்தில் இருப்பு கூறுவோம் பதின்மூன்று ஆண்டும்
மறுவிடும் திங்கள் பதினொன்றுமாகும் வரைந்தனம் பூருவ பாகம்

In his next birth, he will take birth in Brahmin community in Velankadu. Will be working as a servant to the King. Whatever we have stated will not go wrong. At birth, the balance of Jupiter dasa was 13 years and 11 months. This is what is stated in the first chapter.

Jupiter dasa at birth means Janma Nakshatra must be Purvabhadrapada as Moon is in Aquarius. For 200 minutes of duration of the Nakshatra the dasa balance will be 48 months. So for 157 months the nakshatra duration must be (200/48) x 157= 654.17 minutes which is 10 degrees 54.17 minutes. This is the portion yet to be completed by the Nakshatra and hence the pada must be the 1^st pada.
